Graduated student of the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal in 2005, Monia Chokri has participated to many theatrical projects. Right after graduating, she works, among others, with Hugo Bélanger in Le Baron de Munchausen. From 2006 to 2010, it’s in L’évangile selon Salomé,  directed by Alexandre Marine. After that, she plays under the direction of Serge Mandville in Ailleurs, Emmanuel Schwartz in Chroniques, and with Benoît Vermeulen in Les mauvaises Herbes, just to name a few.

Founder member of the Du Bunker company, she plays, in 2006, at the Salle Fred-Barry in Le songe de l’oncle directed by Igor Ovadis. In 2007, it’s at l’Espace Libre that we can see Monia Chokri in their second production: Le Diable en partage from Fabrice Melquiot. In 2009, their last creation, Je voudrais ( ) crever, obtains an immense success at the new theater Les Écuries.

On the big screen, she plays Maya in Hier, demain, hier from Xavier Rondeau-Beauchesne, and Aziza in L’âge des ténèbres from Denys Arcand.

Coming up in 2010, Monia will take part as Marie in Les amours imaginaires, Xavier Dolan’s next movie.
